With Major Paradigm Changes….

…very little changes…except the character of your entire life. It depends on the area of one’s life and how time consuming and significant it is to you in your everyday life. We are in the midst of the paradigm change from analogue to digital information which is major, but the last time we had an even larger paradigm change was from Hunting and Gathering to Homesteading and Agriculture. With the change from Debt Only to Direct and Reciprocal Monetary Gifting we’ll have the same depth of change.  But what will change other than the system going from monetary austerity to abundance and every economic agent going from individual income scarcity to abundance as well? Here’s a short list off the top of my head:

  1. Finance’s monopoly money creating power will end
  2. Prices will be cut in half and consequently everyone’s potential purchasing power will increase by 100%
  3. Additionally, with a $1000/mo dividend,  everyone 18 and older will have $24,000/yr guaranteed and every two person head of household will have $48,000/yr thus immediately ending poverty, and with even part time jobs making say $20,000/yr for each they thus have a total potential purchasing power of  $128,000/yr

So again, almost nothing structurally will change, at least immediately, but the character of your entire economic and monetary life…is transformed.

Now the soon to occur “knock on” effects will undoubtedly be transformative as well so far as the elimination of redundant transfer taxation because who needs to pay for welfare, unemployment insurance etc. etc. when everyone makes $24k/yr and if they have part time jobs they’re upper middle class? Likewise with Monetary Gifting becoming the new paradigm large cuts in income taxes for both individuals and enterprise will be possible because the federal government could simply gift governments on the fereral and state levels. (Perhaps lower levels of government could be folded into the state level as well, or they could chose to levy taxes [or not] to suit their own goals and purposes.)

Of course an intelligent program to help guide people constructively and healthily into monetary abundance and leisure would be necessary. A cooperative effort by the clergy, helping professions and the government with public service announcements akin to those which helped lower smoking rates would be a good start toward making people more aware of the miriade possibilities for positive and constructive purposes in addition to or other than employment.

A form of service akin to the Peace Corps would also be an extremely constructive and important manifestation. What if a percentage of the budget and fixed resources of the military (or an increase of them) could be used for modernizing our own infrastructure and that of third world nations?  Duty is an extremely high concept, especially when tied to constructive purposes, and could bloom into world changing positive effects. And of course as other nations saw our example they would be foolish not to copy it and choose to create abundance over lingering in scarcity.

Re-fitting production and structural construction to cutting edge ecologically clean and sustainable levels?

Again, lots of other creative and constructive changes would undoubtedly also take place on a non-profit basis, and with the end of the monopolistic parasitism, domination and manipulation of the money creating power transferred to a publicly administered system precisely and consciously aligned with the concept of grace as in benevolent gifting profit making entreprenuerialism will also flourish.

Hyperinflation never occurs without the convergence of several disasterous economic, financial and political circumstances, however, regular garden variety inflation will always occur in modern economies if money is continually pumped into them, and hurtful but less than hyperinflationary rates will occur unless a beneficial alternative is intelligently presented. This doesn’t invalidate MMT money mechanics, but it will enable regressive forces to “rag on” about relatively high inflation and try to reverse the additional money necessary to keep the economy out of recession.

The problem with the terminally orthodox neo-liberals is they think the economy tends toward equilibrium and the problem with all heterodox theorists is they think the economy tends a little bit toward disequilibrium. The fact is the economy is actually in a continual state of alternately raped and smothered financial chaos because it is bounded neither on the lower end by costs nor the upper end by price. Money itself is not the operant cause of “monetary” inflation hence it is a misnomer. The actual deepest cause of inflation is the complete lack of any actual regulatory means of preventing commercial decision makers from raising their prices, especially in an austere system with a chronic shortage of aggregate demand. Put this together with the actual chaotic nature of the economy and you’ve got a seemingly unresolvable problem.

That’s where the paradigm changing alternative of painless and beneficial integration of price deflation into profit making systems comes in with the dual policies of a universal dividend and a 50% discount/rebate policy at the point of sale throughout the entire length and at the terminal ending point of the legitimate economic/productive process at retail sale.

I know the idea of a UBI or universal dividend seems to be anathema to you Bill, but Employment Only as the paradigm of income has never been adequate and will be increasingly less so as time goes on. And if anyone is having trouble finding purpose without putting in their 40hrs/wk a job guarantee fits snugly within the new paradigm of Direct and Reciprocal Monetary Gifting.

Re-energizing Utopian Energies and the New Paradigm: Posted To RWER Blog 09/02/2018

DR:  Habermas’s view is that society has been reoriented away from the concept of labor toward that of communication, which requires a different way of “linking up with the utopian tradition.” The alternative approach would be to rethink the concept of labor in terms of class and analyze the ways in which the forces of capital that were supposed to be regulated and contained by the social welfare state were left with both the interest and means to undo those regulations. And it’s the center that put itself in the position of responding to and representing the progressive dismantling of the economic side of the social welfare state—in deregulating finance, pursuing globalization, and helping to unleash new digital technologies. The result was, not surprisingly, the growth of obscene levels of inequality, increasing precariousness for large parts of the working-class, and finally the crisis that broke out in 2008, which has led not only to economic but also political breakdown.

However, as Shenker correctly observes, “the breakdown of any political order can be both emancipatory and revanchist.” And it now falls to the Left to reharness and reinvigorate the utopian impulses and energies that the center has squandered in order to chart a path forward.

Me:  His analysis is good, the way forward and upward isn’t quite as well understood. Progressives need to consult the dialectic Marx cobbed from Hegel, and conservatives need to FINALLY get past Smith’s invisible hand. Both perspectives are ideologies looking for justification. The way forward is a true thirdness greater oneness integration of the truths, workabilities, relevant and emerging factors/applicabilities and the highest ethical considerations of the two persectives.

Much of the research and theorizing for this synthesis/integration has already been done by the likes of Steve Keen, Michael Hudson and others, now all it really needs is perception of the new paradigm of Direct and Reciprocal Monetary Gifting as the singular concept that describes and fits within the new pattern and a nice theoretical handle like Wisdomics-Gracenomics to more clearly identify and indicate what is actually needed to make the thirdness greater oneness a more conscious understanding.

In this way we can re-energize the Utopian thrust while inverting its generally perceived and actual top down orientation into freeing the many hands of individuals….to create what they consider to be their ideal scene/own utopia.

After all, inversion is a signature of paradigm change.

DT:  Smith’s hands being invisible, he didn’t notice that we have two hands, the two sides of our brain (one predominantly for sound and the other for vision) tending to use them differently. Craig using words transparently hasn’t noticed their lack of direct inversion (such as one gets in the positive and negative of a photograph). Words need to be supplied with content.

Me:  Quite the contrary Dave my concept of the cosmic code recognizes Duality as a reality and trinity-unity as the result of their integration…much like our vision is a unitary integration of the left and right eyes. All realities are real, it’s just that some are more complete. And so far as content is concerned the cosmic code being a TOE and the expression of virtually everything….if one trains oneself to perceive it…is also the very expression of content.

Einstein and Paradigm Change

LS:  When did you last here an economist say something like this?

If the observations of the red shift in the spectra of massive stars don’t come out quantitatively in accordance with the principles of general relativity, then my theory will be dust and ashes.

Albert Einstein (1920)

Me:  Yes, and also when did you last hear of an economist craft and offer up an Einsteinian-ly radical paradigm changing set of policies that transform the economy by resolving its deepest and most chronic problems? And additionally bases it all on an evolutionary concept that integrates and unifies not only things economic, but the supposed opposites of quantum and temporal realities?

Jaya:  Far from being “dust and ashes” Newton’s equations are still in daily use. I learned them in school and demonstrated that they were accurate beyond my ability to measure! And one cannot imagine a generation that will not learn them.

Einstein’s equations make very accurate predictions, but also fail to predict accurately under certain circumstances, i.e. in blackholes and at the big bang. Quantum mechanics tell us that spacetime cannot have infinite curvature.

So the race is on to replace Einstein’s theory with a quantum theory of gravity and/or spacetime. But when it emerges, Einstein’s theory will not be “dust and ashes” because under most circumstances it is still accurate beyond out ability to measure. Generations of physics graduates will still learn about relativity.

Me:  Good point. Ideas are built on other ideas, and all realities are real it’s just that some are more integrative and highly refined toward the big picture reality philosophers and sages have described for ages. Science as a mode of inquiry of the truth is working its way back to that more inclusive perspective and will add its empirical perspective to it.

FS:  Why do you think that paradigm change will occur in a single step? That never occurred in science!

Me:  Because the change doesn’t actually take place until one has a new cognition…of it. It’s completely true that Science is unconscious of the old/current paradigm let alone the new one, then problems in a system or whatever crop up, the orthodox reject it, others keep trying to “fix” the problems, usually in an ad hoc and reformist fashion, finally someone makes a new tool and has a discovery or re-discovers relevant insights from an old tool and the slow poke process Kuhn described begins to be discerned. But nothing even remotely actual, permanent or world shaking occurs….until one sees the new paradigm.

Einstein’s quote is true. It’s left out as I and others here have pointed out that one needs at the very least a good understanding of the basics of an area prior to being able to discern a new paradigm because a paradigm must fit seamlessly within the body of knowledge/area of human endeavor that it applies to, but a paradigm is also a single concept like Homesteading-Agriculture or Helio-centrism that meets the general applicability requirement I just stated. A paradigm is thus an integration of the opposites of singular and multiple, specific and general. And I assert that, as the integration and discernment of the truths in opposites is the very process and attainment of wisdom regarding whatever is being examined, wisdom is the very tool of what I refer to as paradigm perception. And when you’ve perceived a new paradigm you’re way, way ahead of everyone utilizing only the mental mode of science…..because you see both the single concept and how it fits within and transforms the pattern under examination.

Here’s the levels of thought in descending order that Einstein was referring to (you’ll note the wide gap between the top level and those below it denoting the creative and synergistic effect of the integration of opposites and also the historical fact that most scientific breakthroughs are integrations of the opposite modes of thought of the scientific method and an aspect or aspects of consciousness and its tool wisdom):

Rebuttal To Utopian Unrealism and Oppressiveness

One of the critiques of government providing general monetary abundance is that it is utopian and hence unrealistic and worse oppressive. This is false. Such policies and such a monetary and economic theory actually enables the individual to live in and create their own idea of utopia, and in that sense is freeing. And based on the concept behind such theory, that is grace as in love in action, it encourages and further enables that strongest and most fruitful human capability, so that despite any negative reality one encounters in life….they are guided and protected by it.

Preamble To Wisdomics-Gracenomics Posted To Ellen Brown’s Forum 09/01/2018

By all means let us have Public Banking, and the politically integrative monetary and economic agenda of Wisdomics-Gracenomics and its dual policies that not even the Banking cartel can resist when it is communicated to the large constituencies of the small to medium sized business community and the 95-99%. An agenda that immediately ends poverty and establishes true economic democracy, that rejuvenates and wisely guides profit making systems, that wisely guides Public Banking’s money creating powers and that enables Mankind to leave the troubled adolescence it has been forced to endure for the last 5000 years….to leave the troubled adolescence and failed experiment of homo economicus and begin the expression of our true nature of homo sapiens sapiens, wise and discerning man.

Paradigm Perception

What is paradigm perception? What is a paradigm? How do you develope the ability to perceive paradigms? What are the specific mental skills and characteristics that enable paradigm perception? What are the signatures of paradigm changes and/or the need for same?

What is paradigm perception?

Paradigm perception is the ability to detect and refine thought and the singular conceptual essence of an individual, circumstance, body of knowledge, system or system of systems in a deductive fashion while simultaneously seeing how that singular concept fits seamlessly and integratively within the same. So it is the mindset of the integration of the two opposing modes of reasoning of induction and deuction. As wisdom is the very process of integrating and discerning the truths in opposite perspectives paradigm perception is a gift and skill of wisdom.

What is a paradigm?

A paradigm is a single concept that expresses, describes and creates an entire mental and temporal pattern of reality.

How do you develope the ability to perceive paradigms?

As described above wisdom and its integrative process and skills is the best way to cultivate the ability to perceive paradigms. This can be done by studying various or even just one wisdom tradition.

What are the specific mental skills and characteristics that enable paradigm perception?

One needs to cultivate certain mental habits like patience with decision making, openness to new ideas, ability to recognize orthodoxies true and false, willingness and ability to be comfortable with ambiguity, perseverance with lack of agreement and even despite the invalidations of others.

Paradigm perception also requires intricate and accurate knowledge about the individual, circumstance, body of knowledge, system or system of systems themselves that the paradigm applies to.

What are the signatures of paradigm changes and/or the need for same?

Here is a partial list:

  1. Conceptual opposition to the current/old paradigm
  2. Inversion/transformation of a present problematic duality, ratio, structural entity, systemic condition/reality
  3. Invalidation of current orthodoxies
  4. Discovery of a new tool or process, or re-discovery of an old tool’s greater significance
  5. Long term lingering unresolved problems within the old paradigm
  6. Intellectual, philosophical and moral confusion and ambiguity to the point where one thing, situation and reality appears to be and is claimed to be its opposite
  7. Obsessive orthodoxy, contention, polarization and, if a new paradigm is not perceived and accepted, disintegration and eventually chaos.
  8. Rise of authoritarian figures

The Original Paradigm Change…

…was the human species awakening to consciousness. And the final one will be their realization that on an elemental and yet imminently experiential level the nature of the cosmos is that very same “thing”.
