It actually is true that we must not encourage entitlement and profligacy. But of course the advocate of Social Credit/Wisdomics/Gracenomics wouldn’t do that knowing that humans are flawed but basically good.
The best and most intelligent way to address the particle of truth in the puritan obsession with rules, values and sanctions is to make people more aware of the multitude of positive and constructive purposes in addition to employment that are available to them and then encourage, enable and train them to fulfill them so that the civilization not only thrives economically, but in all spheres.
This could best be accomplished with an alliance of the clergy, the helping professions and public service campaigns by the government all coordinated around the practical, wholistic and healthy observations in the world’s major wisdom traditions.
