Response to a Poster on Billy Mitchell’s Blog

Dork of Cork,

Yes, utopias as envisioned by Finance Capitalism and Socialism will never work because they do not set the individual economically and monetarily free…to create his/her own utopia. The individual is the key policy target and ingredient of any complete theory, and nearly every one of them either miss, or in the case of austerians, dismiss this fact.

@Dork

You’re really speakin’ my language with “We need to dethrone abstractionism and en power individual sovereignty.” That plus we need to overcome the cognitive dissonance we have between philosophy and policy. Curiously the church in going into agreement with power rejected the greater power of its philosophy of Grace…and the rest is history. From a purely secular and valid economic point of view grace as in the free and direct monetary gift to the individual has no such dissonance, and Gifting as policy empowers both the traditionally productive enterprises of the economy, the government to spend on rationally needed and innovative infrastructure and with a sufficient gift sets the individual free as well. It’s a win-win, proactive integration of philosophy and policy which also incorporates the insights of cutting edge thinking like Disequilibrium Theory and MMT.

We should try it…we’ll like it. 🙂

Yes Neo-liberal DSGE theory and ideology infiltrated the thinking of nearly all economists, and politicians being notoriously ignorant, unimaginative and servile to power have lead us to where we are. I couldn’t agree with that more. But what this analysis does not include is the insight that the micro-economy itself is inherently cost inflationary and so injecting money into it whether via government spending to enterprise for infrastructure etc. or private financial means to enterprise….will re-initiate that cost inflation…instead of resolving it. The indirectness of policy (to enterprise first instead of directly to the individual) is the ultimate mental hurdle theorists on both the left and right must overcome.

The right needs to ask itself whether it values capital ideology and power more than individual freedom and systemic free flowingness, and the left needs to ask itself whether it values socialist ideology and power more than individual freedom and systemic free flowingness. There is a third way.

Direct monetary Gifting to the individual (and back to enterprise after they have gifted the consumer with a retail discount) resolves the problem of cost inflation and of ideologies on both the left and right.

The Agenda of Integration/Wisdom Versus Agendas In General

Agendas are good things for maintaining focus….and potentially very bad things if integration/unification with other agendas is called for as a more complete solution to a problem….and an agenda or agendas resist that integration/unification. When it comes to integration more and greater is almost always the best course of action. Integration is the very process of Wisdom, so logically it follows that more Wisdom is better than less Wisdom. An integration is defined as a combination of only the truth(s), the workabilities, the applicabilities and the best and highest ethical sensitivities of two or more competing and/or apparently opposing ideas, theories or systems. The agenda of Integration/Wisdom is thus the pinnacle agenda of all agendas, and the only thing above the agenda of Integration/Wisdom is an Ethic of Wisdom in action, namely Grace/graciousness.

There is an incredible amount of truth in that video. Who can deny it? But the question most needing an answer about the problems between Russia and the US is…what is the most basic problem that keeps all of this dangerous brinksmanship in effect? A litany of blame, guilt and mutual disinformation campaigns has been excellently documented here and elsewhere, but if the reason empires MUST develop is because domestic economies cannot sustain themselves without grabbing wealth from outside of themselves due to a chronic systemic scarcity of individual incomes created to liquidate domestic production, and the Banking/Money system resists surrendering their monopoly on credit as well as the reasons they will extend it (loan and production only)….then isn’t it important to integrate Public Banking and Social Credit….so that we can actually have a complete solution to the problem???

Billions of innocent human beings and potential victims of this historically rhyming situation, including yourself and your immediate family, need a COMPLETE solution to this problem. I don’t want it on my conscience that I didn’t do WHATEVER needed to be done….to avoid that probability.

Bob Bowes:   I would not say this is better than nothing, since the same folks that control the private central banks also control the gold market.

It’s actually a step backwards, because it reinvents “sound money,” which the criminal banking cartel stopped hawking in the 70’s.

Me:  Correct. Gold is a false solution. Money is not a commodity. A money system requires faith in its actual functionality. We don’t have that. The resultant mistrust and confusion is general as we see all around us. Faith/Confidence needs to be restored/created for the first time. The positive consequences of that….would be tremendously increased prosperity and an almost inestimably valuable rise in the general emotional tone of the society.

Poster:  Steve nails it in pointing out that it is the monopoly on credit that is integral to the ideals of Public Banking.
How ironic that those that monopolize credit as credibility are the least creditable.

Me:  Yes, despite their dominating monopoly the Banks are still dependent upon us to create the wealth and value that actually makes their product money/credit…of any value. And as the flow of total individual incomes is never equal to the flow of total costs and so total prices, by cost accounting convention (i.e. all costs must go into price)…their steadfast refusal to allow a direct gift of money to the individual to become policy keeps this absurd and onerous system in place. And of course economist’s and politician’s lack of insight and imagination contributes to it as well.

The Level of the Mindset of Science

One who believes in the adequacy of Science is conditioned to invalidate realities as much (and in many cases much more) than they are validating or discovering them. This is clear from the study of the history of Science and is increasingly the case today. Of course on the level of science one is completely correct in doing this, except for the fact that, again, such mindset historically so often becomes a rigid orthodoxy and so actually inhibits discovery of new truth(s). The hallmark of good science and also of scientific breakthrough is open mindedness to new data and thinking particularly new thinking that integrates an aspect of consciousness like imagination, intuition, cognition, flow and play.

Making Wisdom Accessible and Everyday

Do the Western equivalent of the Islamic practice of facing east, bowing and praying three times a day, and also acculturating an Ethic of Grace by contemplating its aspects four of which  are

  1. an integrated Bothness(Duality),
  2. an integrated Bothness/Andness (Trinity-Unity),
  3. Flow and
  4. Highness/Bestness.

None of this would be to acknowledge a particular faith, or lack thereof. If one was a Christian they could take 3-15 minute opportunities to contemplate the first two which are basically the scientific and spiritual mindsets integrated, and God’s Grace. If Buddhist the same first two and then they could contemplate Flow and Highness/Bestness as in the Bodhisattva ethic of Buddhism. Each religion or sect could do the 3 aspects which are agreed upon generic aspects of spirituality plus the fourth that identified with their specific faith or lack thereof.

Modernity is much less focused and increasingly much more “distracted from distraction by distraction”. This is not good according to all of the wisdom traditions and sages of the remote and recent past. So it needs to be confronted and handled in as intelligent and gracious a fashion as possible. Even a cursory study of both religion and science shows them both to be inadequate ideals/mindsets/ethics upon which to base a human beings philosophy of life. Integrating both the scientific and religious-intuitive mindsets is thus the correct thing to do. And remember an integration is a combination of only the truths, workabilities and applicabilities of opposing ideas/mindsets so neither the scientific nor the religious-intuitive perspective is able to claim ultimate reality alone. This is the combinatorial and expansion/inclusion/ascension aspect of an integration. And of course this is why we need the above ethic of integration/integrative mindset (the integrated Duality aspect of the Cosmic Code) to re-inforce the awareness and importance of that integrative mindset. Achieving the experiences of Wisdom has so many personal benefits. Benefits like increased knowledge as in data, increased usability as in the well known increased competence in dealing with worldly situations nature of Wisdom and finally the increased self knowledge aspect of Wisdom which builds self confidence in both the world and within and about one’s Self and one’s self expression

Wisdom has almost inestimable value both inwardly and outwardly. Modernity and modern human beings need it Let us pursue it with vigor and with post haste..

Dork of Cork
Per your first post. Excellent observations. The overly abstract tend to abstract themselves from the ability to enjoy and even experience Life including themselves which can lead to either despair or some twisted nihilism whether overt or hidden even from themselves. Unfortunately this seems to be the vector of modenity and modern man.

Hierarchy of Thought/Thinking

There is a hierarchy of Thinking and of thought itself. It goes from low to high like this:

Superstition  (pre-data, pre-science attempts to understand)

Science (data) Mathematics is pure concepts (abstractions about ideas) stripped of philosophical significance and so is a kind of midpoint- bridge to philosophy

Philosophy (the study and love of ideas)

Wisdom (the integration of ideas) The integrated Duality part of The Cosmic Code

Spirituality (The experiences of Grace/Self Awareness. The personal experience of Grace is the integrated Trinity-Unity of Self, Space and Time ) The Trinity-Unity part of the Cosmic Code

Ethic(s) (the purely conscious consideration of the Good)

Consciousness Itself (Ability to Merge and Pervade)

Games and Action(s)

Curiously the very highest levels of the scale have been accomplished and recorded in the world’s major Wisdom traditions while still in the Superstition/pre-data and science stage of human development. This is probably because intuition has always been available to Man and is reflectively an aspect of the higher levels where it is increasingly informed, rational and conscious due to its integration with Science, Philosophy, Wisdom, Spirituality and Ethics.

Each level is a higher order of integration with the last three levels being the integration of the specific aspects of Grace/Self Awareness/Ethics and Consciousness itself…the better to more deeply and consciously experience anything in  Life.

These are also levels of mindset that individuals can be seen utilizing and either getting trapped in or going in and out of with relative degree of skill and proficiency. The bulk of humanity is either thoroughly stuck in one of the first two levels or has some facility in both. Some momentary use and knowledge of the levels above science is present in many, but in order to truly and generally ascend to the level of philosophy one needs to discard the greater part of one’s biases caught via contagion from upbringing, friends and acquaintances, culture and one’s own experiences and reactions to them. In order to do the same in Wisdom one has to thoroughly adopt  the integrative mindset as a conscious choice other wise one descends back into the lower levels and does not get the full benefits of Wisdom which are the ability to increasingly discern actual truths, facility in combining them and increasing confidence in trusting and being able to act on and with those integrated truths leading eventually to Wisdom’s pinnacle,  actual Spirituality, i.e. the actual experience of Grace/one’s own Self Awareness. At this level,  if the individual is truly interested in pursuing it, is characterized by increasing integration and depth of any experience one has or has had. The level of Ethic is actually the full conscious recognition and acceptance of the necessity of both freedom and barriers, their integration with each other and consequent true freedom. This is the level of what I would refer to as “the beatific chains of Ethics.” Consciousness itself is also referred to as “cosmic consciousness” because one is able to merge with whatever one is experiencing inwardly or outwardly. This is far above Self Awareness, but is not an obliteration of Self either as one is perfectly capable of being and retaining one’s own Self and whatever characteristics one may have developed or are inherent. Each level is both concentric and inclusive of all abilities in the levels below it in the hierarchy. The level of Games and Action(s) is placed above Consciousness Itself because Games and Action are the very essence of Life and Living itself….and what is Life for if not for Living. It’s not so much that knowing at this point could become boring it’s more that knowing and unknowing, both of which are at the very pinnacle of human abilities, is a fuller experience…and the ability to actually consciously un-know enables one to sincerely play games, act and further learn.

So what is the sane course? It’s recognizing that the economy is in a continual state of monetary and price disequilibrium which tends to beget a mindset of austerity in economic theory and in fact enforces unnecessary austerity on nearly everyone. So you fix that problem FIRST with policies that directly and specifically target those two disequilibrated metrics, and then you integrate the resultant much greater economic democracy (and so much more likely willingness and ability to comfortably think rationally) with a natural philosophy whose natural key concept is balance, equilibrium and flow itself, namely Grace….so as to give us our best chance at sustainable technologically advanced existence. So you need “the policies of a philosophy” as Douglas described Social Credit, and the integration of the two. I don’t know why I’m feeding you all of this fucking wisdom. All I get is long distance internet pscho-analysis from you which is probably the only thing less accurate than macro-economic theories and so insults and a petulant refusal to analyze Social Credit. You’re smart Keen. I don’t know how many times I sincerely complimented you for that. Your de-construction of DSGE despite a mountain of delusive opinion and “wisdom” is worthy….but you’re not “upping your game” philosophically.

An Ethic of Wisdom and Grace

An Ethic is a purely conscious consideration of The Good. Hence it is above even the ongoing experience of Grace. As Wisdom and Grace will not be the general experience or continuing reality for people on this planet until they generally become aware of its Goodness and necessity and then decide to pursue them….an Ethic of Wisdom and Grace is perhaps the most important thought-goal that can be conceived and actualized.

Post to Billy Mitchell’s Blog 11/02/2015

The following post I made to Billy Mitchell’s blog got me moderated there. It’s puzzling to me that a post that includes a compliment and a sincere attempt to look for an integration of MMT, Public Banking and Social Credit can be a basis for moderation other than the blog owner perceived a challenge to the importance and depth of his own economic and monetary viewpoint (MMT) …and simply did not want an additional viewpoint expressed and/or integration considered.

Excellent post as always. However this statement:
“If there was accelerating inflation and high GDP growth then one might be tempted to conclude the fiscal deficit is to expansionary and needs to be cut back. One might equally conclude that private spending is too strong and needs to be cut back.” ….could be made basically irrelevant by the macro-economic policy tools of a universal dividend and a discount to retail prices to the individual (in other words everyone) that was rebated back to retailers so that they could be whole on their margins and overheads, and the system, which would also include all of the excellent insights of MMT, would fit seamlessly within profit making systems which actually served the individual instead of dominating and manipulating them….like now.

I have posted here before about these two macro policies and about the fact that retail sale to the individual is the key policy target because it is the terminal end of all costs for any item or service as well as the terminal end of the entire productive process itself. A couple of posters here declared that these policies would not stabilize or bracket the entire economy, but they gave no actual or valid reasons why they believed that to be true.

I’m not here to invalidate MMT in any way, I’m only interested in integrating it with other reform movements like Public Banking and Social Credit thinking that such integration would bring a greater clarity and hope to a mass movement whose lay, economic and political constituencies might actually get such an integrated and hence complete program actually enacted.

The following post was apparently denied/rejected:

Yes Neo-liberal DSGE theory and ideology infiltrated the thinking of nearly all economists, and politicians being notoriously ignorant, unimaginative and servile to power have lead us to where we are.
