Its always been an oligarchy. Thats why we had slavery, Jim Crowism, women didn’t have voting rights, immigrant demogoguery…and Finance was The Great Oz behind the curtain the entire time.

Yes, all of the historical bad governments were overt fascist or otherwise totalitarian, but America’s promise was really just a suave form of oligarchy, and despite some progress in dealing with the above nasty facts that progress is only palliatives which continue to rise up like we see it happening here now.
