What the country needs is a true synthesis/thirdness greater oneness of a seemingly unresolvable duality, like capitalism vs socialism for instance. As liberal-progressive as I am I don’t really see how a largely if not totally orthodox socialism is going to be able to survive the demogoguery of Trump and the acculturated conservatism of republicanism…unless of course the above thirdness synthesis of opposites is discovered and effectively communicated to the general populace.
So here is my policy prescription for that: A 50% Discount to the consumer at both regular consumer retail sale and also at the retail point of Finance, namely one’s mortgage, automobile, insurance and other big ticket item’s monthly payment. This single policy would enable everyone to purchase $100 worth of groceries or other goods and service..for only $50, and yet the merchant gets their entire price with the rebate aspect of the policy so its a win/win for both the individual and the commercial agent as it mathematically doubles everyone’s purchasing power and simultaneously doubles the potential demand for every commercial agent’s goods and services IOW it implements a condition synonymous to “good economic times” which is everyone having a lot more purchasing power (economic democracy) and yet price and asset deflation with no moral hazard or painful effect for the commercial agent. Its the thirdness/synthesis of the dialectic that Hegel and Marx advocated for, but never found a way to accomplish.
This is the policy the democrats need to see and just keep communcating to their constituents and just ignore any objections or other orthodox nonsense. Just keep modeling it to them until they realize its the greatest opportunity to implement economic democracy…since forever.
