Excellent broad analysis. IMO there is one thing more we need to do that should make most Iranians more cordial despite the war and that we didn’t do when the USSR became Russia back in the 80’s, and that is, after we’ve won the war, is to offer The Marshall Plan, nay an uber Marshall Plan to Iranians. And how do we do that? We implement a single policy that changes the current human civilization-long monetary paradigm where virtually all new money is created ONLY AS DEBT, and that policy is a 50+% Discount/Rebate policy at the various points of retail sale in the economy. That way everyone can buy $100 worth of groceries for $50, buy a $50k automobile for $25k and a $500k house for $250k…and yet with the rebate aspect of the policy the merchant in every instance gets their full price for the product or service. Voila! Everyone’s purchasing power is doubled, chronic erosive inflation is transformed into beneficial price and asset deflation and in Iranian’s point of view your worst enemy has become your best friend. Toss in that this single policy is the gretaest opportunity to self actualize gratitude for a gift since meditation and prayer.
