A gold standard didn’t work before and won’t work because it doesn’t actually solve the real economic and monetary problem. The real problem is total costs exceed total individual incomes with which to liquidate those costs, and due to innovation and now artificial intelligence total individual incomes are increasingly diminishing because AI is eliminating the need for human input/employment. The gold standard types (libertarians, Austrian economists) are into puritanical austerity when gracious abundance is the solution. Last time I looked grace was associated with abundance not scarcity, and the gracious perspective is that systems were made for man not man for systems. We are reflections of God and our systems should share that reflectivity. Contemplate and live Love and Grace and you’ll never “put a foot wrong.”
