Profit and control are insufficient values and purposes to philosophically base and align an economic system upon, even if that system is a profit making one. And that is why Wisdom and its pinnacle concept and/or experience, Grace, is the economic system’s necessary remedy. Grace is by definition balance, equilibrium and flow, the same as the stated goals of a healthy, free flowing and actually free economy. It is also the epitome of ethics, the need to be sensitive to both oneself and the other, balanced consideration for both the system and the individual, the integration of both the practical and the ethically ascendant. The concept of Grace is also both above and yet concentric with profit and control and so fits seamlessly within profit making economic systems. Grace includes and transforms every consideration below it. A values free economics is a human absurdity waiting to become a Frankensteinian monster, an oppressive paradigm of debt only instead of a gracious integration and inclusion of both Debt and grace the free monetary gift.
